As we approach this Memorial Day, reverence of sacrifice and gratitude for bravery are foremost among our thoughts.

I am most aware of this when taking in a national veterans cemetery: The simple white stones which stretch endlessly toward the horizon humble me. They remind me that we are the beneficiaries of the selfless acts of those heroes now resting. It is our great honor to carry their legacy within our generation,  and our duty to pass it to the next.

If you are blessed with such a place near you, consider taking a few minutes this weekend to walk among the peace-filled scene. You will feel their stories, and be filled with awe.
