We had a great week at LIGHTFAIR International in Chicago earlier this month — thank you to everyone who visited our booth! We loved hearing about your projects and discussing how KLIK products can solve design challenges.
Evolution of KLIK USA Booth
We received lots of great questions from visitors — below is a recap of some of the most popular discussion topics in our booth:
- Many folks stopped in “the tunnel” to see KLIK LEDpods™ and KLIK LEDpod XLs™ in an in-situ exhibit. A frequent question was “Do I have to use your metal?” Of course not! One of the great benefits of working with KLIK is the freedom to work with your local fabricator to install your project with the knowledge and precision you trust. This vastly simplifies the entire process, aligns budgets in appropriate divisions (lights in lighting, metal in metals), and allows a far more creative response than would be possible with take-it-or-leave-it complete railing packages.
- The KLIK LEDpod XL is the innovative, easy to use downlight for architectural metals. Because we had an XL on display in the booth, folks would see it and ask; “Can we get asymmetric?” Fortunately, that’s one of the fixtures we had on our sample board! We are very excited to announce a new way to light your space; the KLIK LEDpod XL32 Asymmetric. This is an extraordinary light with super high output — now available in asymmetric. Keep an eye on our website for updates — we’ll be shipping soon!
- “I’d like to use the XL28 in a handrail – is this possible?” Again, happy to say; yes! We are putting the finishing touches on the new profile for the XL28, which allows it to be used in short handrail profiles like oval or 1.5” rectangular.
We also enjoyed learning more about the latest lighting research and trends at the LFI conference. IoT (Internet of Things), smart buildings, and the impact of lighting on health were all major topics at the show and conference this year.
In addition, we were able to attend a class about the Intangibles of Daylight, which touched on the unique characteristics of daylight, how humans are impacted by natural and artificial light, and how we live in a unique time when daylight and electric lights can be used together to create balanced, beautifully lit environments. As we took in the show and conference at McCormick Place, we saw some great examples of how natural daylight and electric lights could be used together to create interesting spaces:
